Francois Ferreira Academy opened its doors fourteen plus years ago at the Oorskotjie Building at the back of the old Butcher’s Block Restaurant.
From these modest beginnings they have soared to new heights and since then they have grown from strength to strength, by expanding the scope of the School to include Skills Development Programmes for Hospitality and Tourism Partners and starting Cooking Classes for inspired young Cheflings and Adults to make their Foodie dreams come true.
On 19 July 2018 the long anticipated opening of the new purposed build, state of the art, practical kitchen and classrooms were opened by Ms Portia Rakoma (National Department of Tourism) and Mr Thomas Overbeck (The South African Chef’s Association).
The Opening was attended by Dignitaries from the Department of Tourism, as well as The South African Chef’s Association, prominent George Business People and friends of the Francois Ferreira Academy.
It turned out to be a very special evening that encompassed the dawn of a new era after many years of blood, sweat and tears that resulted in a well-deserved new campus for Francois Ferreira Academy.
A proud moment with many exciting things to come.
All that we can say is: “Watch this space”!
