Academic Manager: Maynie Turnbull has been associated with the school since 2008, amongst other as facilitator, administrator and accounting clerk.
She has two degrees, respectively in Education and Librarianship, acquired from the University of Pretoria and Unisa. Besides being a teacher, she has worked for the Gauteng Education Department as school inspector for 11 years. She has been a lecturer in Media Science at the University of Pretoria, and the South African College for Education and Training, where she wrote several study guides for distance learning purposes.
In 2003 she and her husband, Mike, sold their business in Gauteng and lived a carefree life on their yacht for three years. They have since, become landlubbers again and together with sailing partner Bones, the cat, live in Sedgefield.
She has written our Cathsseta shorter course study materials and has this year embarked on the huge task of writing the study materials for the Cathsseta National Certificate: Professional Cooker, that will enlarge our training scope considerably. She is a qualified assessor with the ETDP SETA.
She loves writing and water in all forms, and would still like to put her memories of life at sea and some other books in incubation stage, on paper. For now however, she enjoys the fresh air when being pillion on Mike’s iron horse, that takes them far and fast on interesting road adventures.
